*Job Summary* Union Tech (uniontechmfg.com) is a global, integrated manufacturer of engineered valves and oil tools. We are headquartered in Houston, TX with manufacturing and distribution facilities located worldwide. Our Valve Products business is currently seeking to fill an Account Manager role performing outside sales functions with a focus on Severe Service Metal Seated Ball Valves (MSBV) in oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, power generation, etc.

*Job Functions*

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing productive long-term relationships with our accounts and driving our sales initiatives. Sales initiatives will include business growth beyond the existing account base. You will respond to customer requests, resolve their queries timely, and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience. You will be the point of contact between the sales team and the customers.

  • Understand severe and/or critical service valving requirements for end user applications; articulate engineered isolation solutions based on our valve products
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts throughout North America and beyond, maintaining regular communication with customer contacts and reporting sales calls to the team via CRM system
  • Grow the Union Tech brand and installation base by increasing penetration of existing accounts and developing new accounts
  • Function as the primary commercial and technical contact between Union Tech and the customer; negotiate technical and commercial agreements
  • Articulate the technical and commercial requirements of RFQs to members of the Inside Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams
  • Develop sales forecasts and report on actual sales results
  • Represent Union Tech at industry events (i.e. API meetings, Users Group meetings, etc.)
  • Manage existing network of channel partners; identify new channel partner opportunities and negotiate agreements, as necessary
  • Spearhead initiatives to secure Union Tech’s inclusion on the AMLs and AVLs of end users, technology licensors, EPCs, distributors, etc.
  • Assist in the resolution of commercial and/or technical customer issues
  • Monitor the market landscape and identify customer, competitor, and supplier data and trends
  • Assist Inside Sales as needed

*Job Requirements*

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, engineering, technology industrial distribution, etc. and / or 5+ years’ engineered valve sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven work experience as an Outside Sales Account Executive / Manager for engineered valves
  • Deep relationships throughout the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and/or power generation industries

Specialized knowledge, Key Skills, and Competencies:

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of severe-service applications - high temperature, high pressure, abrasive, corrosive, and/or erosive service
  • Comprehensive understanding of distribution market structure for industrial ball valves as it pertains to the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and/or power generation markets
  • Expert at technical solution selling
  • Self-motivated, intuitive, logical thinker driven by success
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Firsthand experience in sales and an ability to deliver a best-in-class customer experience
  • Comfortable in communicating with personnel at various levels within an organization
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Understands how to position products against competitors; extensive technical knowledge of MSBV designs and market offerings
  • Good organizational skills, competent business acumen understands commercial terms and conditions
  • General computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Familiar with using Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
