We are seeking a dynamic and strategic *Director of Business Development and Sales* to lead our growth initiatives and drive revenue expansion across CO. *Position Overview*
The Director of Business Development and Sales will lead the company's commercial growth, pipeline development, direction of key accounts and revenue generation strategies. This dual-focus leadership role requires a hands-on strategist who can secure high-value retail partnerships while optimizing day-to-day wholesale sales operations. You will manage the sales lifecycle from lead generation to account retention, ensuring the brand remains a force in the market.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Revenue Leadership: Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual wholesale revenue targets.
- New Business Acquisition: Actively hunt, pitch, and secure high-volume retail groups, multi-state operators, and independent accounts.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Oversee the entire sales funnel, utilizing data-driven forecasting to identify market expansion opportunities.
- Account Retention & Optimization: Build deep, lasting relationships with key purchasing managers to maximize shelf space and introduction of new product lines.
- Market Intelligence: Analyze competitor pricing, market demand, and consumer trends to help guide manufacturing schedules and product pricing strategies.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with production and packaging teams to ensure product inventory matches market demand and sales promises.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all sales, distribution agreements, and sampling practices strictly align with local and state enforcement regulations.
*Qualifications & Skills*
- Experience: 3+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3+ years in a sales leadership or business development role.
- Industry Acumen: Proficient understanding of the retail landscape and a strong existing network of professional buyers.
- Product Knowledge: Deep appreciation and understanding of the product line and manufacturing standards.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of closing complex wholesale deals, structuring volume discounts, and managing distribution agreements.
- Data Literacy: Advanced skills in CRM management, sales forecasting, data analysis, and market performance tracking.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the willingness to travel extensively throughout the sales territory.
- Credentials: Ability to secure and maintain all required state-mandated employment badges or licenses.
- Systems: METRC, Distru, LeafLink, Google Suites, Spreadsheet creation and management.
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly, have a valid drivers license, hold a MED badge.
*What We Offer*
- Competitive base salary accompanied by an uncapped commission. Starting base salary of $35,568 per year and 1% - 2.25% commission depending on qualifications, experience, and existing relationships.
