Munro Supply is seeking a motivated sales professional with a background in pumps and related industrial products. In this exciting role, you’ll spend your time:
- Engaging with customers to support their important water, wastewater, municipal, irrigation, industrial and other projects
- Uncovering new sales opportunities
- Working with a dynamic team of professionals in a casual, collaborative environment

JOB CLASSIFICATION: FT; Exempt/Salaried
DESCRIPTION: Munro Supply, Inc. has served a diverse group of industries, including mining, oil and gas, irrigation, municipal, construction and industrial, in the Rocky Mountain Region for over 60 years. As Grand Junction's premier industrial distributor, our specialties are hose, pumps, valves, fittings and industrial goods.
This position is responsible for the overall success, growth and profitability of sales for special projects and will contribute to supporting all sales efforts for Munro Supply accounts. Must possess high energy, be analytical, and have the passion and drive to take the business to the next level.
JOB DUTIES
- Account Management and Strategic Selling
- Provide consistent coverage for our existing customers and prospects – primary audiences are municipalities, water providers/treatment, specifiers/engineers, etc.
- Manage personal activities to achieve both top and bottom-line growth.
- Develop and execute aggressive sales plans to meet agreed upon sales goals, including developing new accounts.
- Research and understand relevant markets, competitors, customers, and prospects in your region.
- Travel to visit customers and prospects, with specific topics and sales goals for each visit.
- Build the Munro Supply brand by consistently and effectively representing and communicating our core values.
- Customer Communications
- Assists with customer application/usage questions.
- Assists in disseminating general company information and marketing materials.
- Identifies and communicates customer needs in terms of service and product availability.
- Tradeshows and Events
- Participate in tradeshows, customer appreciation events, and vendor roadshows.
- Additional
- Delivers an excellent customer experience in all customer interactions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Contributes to product excellence and market penetration by identifying and communicating possible product enhancements and new product development.
- Collaborate closely with sales and operations team members; document customer interactions, project updates, and sales opportunities in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strategic selling: Proven sales producer with an ability and desire to identify and close strategic sales opportunities.
- Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving ability and strategic thinking.
- Speaking and writing: Great written and verbal communication skills are a must. Communication is done through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions on a continual basis.
- Computer skills: Must be able to navigate a wide range of computer programs with ease, experience using CRM tools a plus. Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of new computer programs.
- Attention to detail: Ability to work with precision and identify and solve problems.
- Past experience: At least 3 years experience in a business-to-business sales position is a must, as is prior experience with pumps and related industrial equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Job Requirements
- Stand and / or sit continuously and perform job functions
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions
- Ability to hear and respond to facility commands
- Strong mental agility, including ability to remember short and long term and ability to perform complex analytical tasks
Location: Colorado, preferably Grand Junction area. Will be required to spend at least one week per month in Western Colorado.
Education level: HS diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors degree in business, engineering or a related field preferred
Travel required: ~ 60%
Compensation range: OTE $60,000-$100,000+, through a base salary and performance-based bonuses
