Construction Inspector

AECOM is currently seeking a Construction Inspector Aide to support projects located within the Montgomery, AL area. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in construction inspection while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Relies on detailed instructions and pre-established guidelines to effectively perform assigned job functions while following standard procedures and project requirements
- Works under immediate supervision, receiving guidance and direction from senior inspectors or project managers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
- Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and applicable code requirements by performing thorough and consistent inspection duties in the field
- Performs daily field inspections, documenting observations and maintaining accurate, organized inspection records to support project tracking and compliance
- Participates in the development of punch lists, as well as testing and commissioning activities, to help ensure all systems and components meet project standards prior to completion
- Tracks quality assurance progress throughout various stages of construction, identifying issues and supporting corrective actions to maintain project quality
- Provides input and support for documentation related to area and equipment turnovers, assisting in the preparation of closeout materials and ensuring a smooth transition to operations
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
- Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required
- FDOT Intermediate MOT - Must obtain within the first six months of the assignment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic mathematical calculations and follow simple technical instructions experience
- Two years of construction experience
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
