Job Summary: The Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for greeting guests with a positive attitude, taking orders, preparing and delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a clean service area. This role ensures accuracy in cash handling, provides excellent customer service, and follows all health department regulations.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional attitude, taking orders for food and beverages.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages in accordance with menu standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee shop, including counters, tables, and service stations.
- Process guest payments accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash and credit transactions.
- Restock supplies, including food, beverages, and condiments, throughout the shift.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring the proper handling and preparation of food and beverages.
- Communicate with guests to ensure their satisfaction and handle any special requests.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the coffee shop during opening and closing shifts.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, or food service environment is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Primarily an indoor environment with frequent standing and walking required during shifts.
- Exposure to food service equipment, including coffee machines and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
