Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, supports administrative tasks associated with running the Family Resource Schools (FRS) Afterschool Program as part of the afterschool team providing services on-site at five (5) local elementary schools.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs administrative tasks related to the student registration process.
  • Supports data collection, entry, and maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date program data.
  • Assists with distribution of snacks, collection of attendance, and dismissal.
  • Assists with daily setup and teardown tasks and as needed, supports other afterschool events.
  • Communicates with afterschool program instructors and school staff to ensure program runs smoothly and per program requirements.
  • Supports student supervision to ensure safe behaviors.
  • Provides customer service to school staff and parents, guardians, caretakers seeking information.
  • Provides cash handling on occasion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability and desire to work in an elementary school setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and city/school staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook and Google platform.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish in a professional capacity for communication objectives.
  • Ability to successfully perform in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds in a fair, supportive, and cooperative manner.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully pass a background check before first day of work and maintain acceptable screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Skill and experience working with elementary-aged children.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years’ professional experience in customer service, receptionist, and cash handling or any combination.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical and Mental Effort: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits effective communication on the telephone and in person. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation that permits the review, evaluation and preparation of a variety of written documents and materials. Sufficient manual dexterity that permits the operation of computers and other office equipment. Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits work in an office setting. Ability to work under stress from deadlines and public contact. Sufficient stamina, mobility, and patience to keep children safe and manage behaviors and office work in a high energy environment.
  • Work Environment: Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises. Availability to work in-person Mondays through Thursdays between 1-6 p.m., mid-August to end of May. Must be present within the State of Colorado and be able to work in-person. Attendance at occasional evening and weekend meetings may be required.
