Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading, motivating, training and supporting a team of Warehouse Associates in a specific or overall area of the warehouse. This person will ensure that the Z-Dock and the Warehouse Associates perform in an efficient manner and that all necessary precautions are taken to protect warehouse contents against loss.
Job Description
- Responsible for scheduling of work within the assigned team and area. Creates work documents for picking, moving, and shipping of merchandise. Maintains records and assignment lists of tasks performed throughout the day to minimize down-time and to create a record for accountability. Reconciles completed work for administrative completeness and processes final documents in assigned area(s). Keeps records of work performed vs. time to create comparative metrics.
- Maintain a constant dock presence inspecting work in progress. Works alongside warehouse staff often performing the identical tasks while evaluating and demonstrating proper techniques and disciplines. May on any given day perform the tasks of 'other' warehouse areas working in combination with other Leads or Supervision.
- Responsible for unloading, loading, deluxing and minor furniture repair and needed.
- Will have key and security access. Will oversee the building at times. Responsible for maintaining security and following RDC procedures for security access.
- Maximizes productivity of personnel by proper training of new staff or those that are revealed to need additional training.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
Z-Dock may have zero to as many as ten people in this role depending on size and complexity. Sub-areas include the Delivery process, receiving, Inventory/returns/repairs. Buildings may have a stronger delineation depending on the number of people in this role but in almost every case there will be inter-play between assigned areas, especially to support rotating days off or weekends. Each of these people/departments will be assessed by the overall efficiency and minimal negative effects on customer accommodation and inventory.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
- Forklift Operator Certification
- Travel Required: None
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience of performing at a Leadership level (no matter how small) is preferred and a distinct advantage. The interest and ability to learn and utilize the depth of RMS is mandatory.
