Role Description
Form Energy is seeking a Senior Test Technician to play a key role in supporting Form Energy’s full-scale battery testing efforts. In this role, you will work as a part of our Test Execution team to execute, maintain, and troubleshoot tests for our iron-air batteries. The ideal candidate will be familiar with established tools and norms around battery testing and will actively seek out new methods to assist technical development. The test team works on a 40 hour work week with required weekend shifts with a 4 out of 6 weekend day rotation.
What you'll do
- Set up, execute, and dismantle electrochemical test devices.
- Identify and resolve complex issues with test equipment, configurations, and battery systems in collaboration with engineers and vendors.
- Improve SOPs and troubleshooting guides to boost efficiency, safety, and data quality.
- Provide guidance on test processes, supporting junior technicians and collaborating with engineers to refine test methods.
- Track electrochemical testing status using digital tools (e.g., Jira,, Slack, Confluence, GSuite) and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Promote lab safety and chemical hygiene best practices to ensure a clean and productive environment.
What you'll bring:
- 4+ years of experience in an electrochemical, electrical, or mechanical testing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose system failures and implement effective solutions.
- Understanding of electrical wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and test instrumentation.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in refining processes and solving technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, and software teams.
- High attention to detail to ensure reliable test data collection.
