Machinist at Groundworks Operations, LLC — Columbia, SC

The Lead Machinist is responsible for Mastercam programming, CNC operations, and has strong knowledge of tools and machining techniques. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to fixture work creatively, and familiarity with AI-assisted machining software.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (Haas lathe and 5-axis milling)
• Utilize Mastercam and CAM Assist or other AI software for machining processes
• Ensure precision and quality by selecting the appropriate tooling for lathes and mills
• Develop creative work-holding solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• It is an essential function of this job that the employee regularly and reliably reports to work on time each working day.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC experience (Haas lathe and 5-axis milling)
• Proficiency in Mastercam for programming and setup
• Manual lathe and milling experience preferred, but not required
• Strong knowledge of tooling and machining techniques
• Ability to work independently and lead by example

Working Conditions

• The Lead Machinist will be in an air-conditioned warehouse environment.
• This role has a comp range between $65,000 and $85,000.
• Physical requirements include talking, Hearing, Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling, driving, sitting, and lifting.
