Job Description

Manages the day-to-day operations of one or more manufacturing production lines, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing suggestions with managers and leading improvements to safety, productivity and quality for assigned areas of accountability.
  • Overseeing operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
  • Monitoring overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.
  • Ensures the compliance of all regulatory guidelines and forges a safe and sound manufacturing environment.

Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site. Level Extensive Experience:

  • Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection.
  • Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Designs and implements emergency response processes and procedures.
  • Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations.
  • Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action.
  • Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance. Level Working Knowledge:

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of specific manufacturing procedures.
  • Investigates the need to refer potential exceptions upward for review and approval.
  • Explains the rationale for procedures and standards in own area of responsibility.
  • Participates in the implementation of manufacturing standards and procedures to one's own function.
  • Provides feedback for improvement of procedures.

Production Training: Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training. Level Extensive Experience:

  • Conducts needs analysis to determine skill gaps or areas where training is needed.
  • Develops training programs on the use of new or improved production machines.
  • Directs staff on the set-up and operation of production machinery for custom or non-standard jobs.
  • Evaluates the pros and cons of various training media and the value of each to the organization.
  • Facilitates the training of employees on new equipment provided by equipment manufacturers.
  • Measures the value of the training program by gathering pre- and post-training performance metrics.

Summary Pay Range:

$112.660.00 - $169,060.00
