## Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on individual to help us develop our core technology through the processing of experimental cell assembly and maintenance requests. In this role, you will work as a part of our Subscale Build Operations team performing R&D battery builds, as well as supporting failure analysis efforts including battery cell teardowns, failure data collection and post-teardown sample preparation/processing. This role will require hands-on work in the lab and ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure high quality testing and results. ### What you'll do:

  • Inspect, organize, and assemble components and battery cells using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage parts and consumable inventories for standard builds.
  • Escalate non-conforming components and processes to a manufacturing engineer or supervisor.
  • Perform hands-on lab work to support battery cell teardowns and failure analysis.
  • Document teardown findings and communicate results to Engineering teams for battery product design improvements.
  • Perform post-teardown sample preparation and processing work for material characterization critical to failure analysis.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve build processes and techniques, contributing to a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
  • Organize and maintain lab space, and be a champion for safety in the lab.

### What you'll bring:

  • 2+ years experience as a technician or in a hands-on technical role with materials, mechanics or battery products.
  • Proven ability with work that requires attention to detail, such as assembly or similar technical tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience in working with handheld power tools to assemble/disassemble products and components in an industrial environment is a plus.
  • Detail oriented, a proactive self starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing PPE.
  • Proficiency with software productivity tools such as Slack, JIra, Asana and Google Suite.
