Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for duties related to ensuring quality audits of Marmon IEI wire and cable products are completed and documented, and that products are fully functional and meet all specification standards prior to shipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform electrical testing on in-process and finished products.
  • Perform first article inspections to ensure products are produced to specification requirements.
  • Create, log, maintain, and complete proper documentation processes for wire and cable products.
  • Assist with the development of Quality SOPs.
  • Support activities in compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all Marmon IEI Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
  • Assist and participate in Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support and assist with Quality Improvement projects.
  • Support R&D sample testing and process improvement sample testing.
  • Work as a team with peers, supervisors, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.
  • Responsible for all other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 4+ years of quality inspection experience.
  • Experience in the wire and cable industry is highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Hands-on wire and cable experience preferred.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to learn new Quality Systems.
  • Ability to read and write clearly.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of principles and processes for meeting customer-specific requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to multi-task, follow priorities provided, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that can be noisy.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
  • Ability to move objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
