Position Summary

The Production Scheduler I will provide administrative support within the Wausau Scheduling team. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production flow to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory targets. This position serves as a key cross-functional link between multiple Operations sites, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of production activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Create order picks for production floor based on material availability Partner with senior leaders to align initiatives with Apogee’s strategic vision.
  • Adjust orders in the JD Edwards system based on planned versus actual volumes.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of Production Scheduling processes and performance.
  • Process Damage Material Reports to prompt backorder material replenishment.
  • Manage past due material issues.
  • Perform past due material issues.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Collaborate closely, in person or via email, with on-site Managers and Supervisors, production floor and Client Services to ensure timely volume targets.
  • Process Optimization
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the full production lifecycle, from order entry through shipping.
  • Support the Production Scheduling team with daily operations, process improvements, and special projects.

Experience & Skills

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Experience in a manufacturing office environment preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong keyboarding ability, including 10-key pad, with 45+ wpm ability; typing test will be given. Familiarity with ERP systems, with preferred experience in JD Edwards. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Outlook
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate priorities across departments.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting.

Work Environment/Travel Requirements

Mostly an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor (proper PPE must be worn on manufacturing floor). No travel required; this is full-time on-site position.
