Job Description

Position Summary:

We propose supporting a bioinformatician with a strong background in computational biology to support our research missions. A bioinformatician with a Ph.D. in computational biology brings a unique combination of life science training, which is crucial for analyzing and interpreting complex biological data (e.g., WNV sequence data, RNA-seq, and pathogen discovery). This expertise will significantly enhance our ability to identify pathogens, understand genetic variations associated with human and animal diseases, and develop innovative diagnostic tools.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Research doctorate degree plus 3 years of postdoctoral work or its equivalent
• experience in scientific study design
• experience in next generation sequencing
• experience in computational research

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Experience managing scientific projects related to next generation sequencing, especially utilizing specialized bioinformatics pipelines and Illumina and Oxford Nanopore Technology.

Essential Duties:

Analyze NGS data, Meet with PI and Scientists in the Ebel lab.

Salary Range

$40.00 per hour
