As a Principal Systems Security Engineer, you will act as a key leader in developing and executing our security strategy. You will oversee the security architecture, manage high-stakes security incidents, and provide expert consultation across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide security strategy.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of security architecture and design.
- Lead high-stakes incident response and digital forensics.
- Conduct and oversee comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and enforce advanced security controls and protocols.
- Research and integrate cutting-edge security tools and technologies.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance on security matters.
- Mentor and develop junior security engineers and teams.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in IT security or a related field.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Deep expertise in cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with security frameworks and standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), ISO 27001.
- Current/Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI is required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Information Systems Security Manager Certified Information Systems Security Professional (ISSM CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certification.
- ISSE Certified Information Systems Security Professional-Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP) Certification.
- Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) Certification.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Linux, and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certification.
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work primarily at a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
