This position reports to:

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of products/systems/services within a designated market/division, in line with the division strategy. Each day, you will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
The work model for the role is: remote (#Li-Remote) in San Jose, CA contributing to the IBC Team in the Western Region.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors while driving preference for ABB through education, technical presentations, and proactive engagement.
- Execute sales strategies that expand market share and margin by identifying upcoming opportunities, influencing specifications, introducing new products, and closing deals with informed pricing decisions.
- Perform take‑offs, develop competitive proposals, negotiate project orders, and consistently meet or exceed assigned volume and margin targets.
- Track leads, wins, and losses in Salesforce while providing market intelligence, competitive insights, and hit‑rate analysis to leadership.
Our Team Dynamics
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or something similar from an accredited university/college, or High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant work experience (sales and industry-specific experience preferred)
- Knowledge and experience quoting and/or selling commercial, industrial and residential projects to electrical contractors
- Demonstrated expertise in the electrical industry—including ABB products—supported by strong technical skills in applications, take‑offs, proposal development, analytical tools, and a solid understanding of customer financial drivers.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities with a customer‑focused mindset, proven coordination and influencing skills, and successful experience working directly with electrical contractors.
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
What's in it for you
While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is bonus eligible.
