Sales & Project Manager – Fire Sprinkler Systems Location: Medford, MA (Travel throughout New England as required) Department: Fire Sprinkler Operations Reports To: Fire Sprinkler Operations Manager Compensation: $95,000-$120,000 DOE About Fire Equipment Inc. Position Summary The Sales & Project Manager – Fire Sprinkler Systems is responsible for driving new business opportunities while managing fire sprinkler installation projects from contract award through project completion. This position combines business development, estimating, customer relationship management, and project management to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and company standards. The ideal candidate has experience in fire sprinkler systems or mechanical construction, enjoys building long-term customer relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where they can manage multiple projects while contributing to business growth. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Identify and develop new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and multi-family markets. Build relationships with general contractors, engineers, architects, property managers, and building owners. Meet with customers to evaluate project requirements and recommend fire sprinkler solutions. Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, quotations, and bid packages. Negotiate contracts while maintaining company profitability. Attend networking events, pre-bid meetings, and customer presentations. Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business. Project Management Manage fire sprinkler installation projects from contract award through final completion. Develop project schedules and coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment. Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, and overall project profitability. Lead project kickoff meetings and routine progress meetings. Coordinate with field personnel, suppliers, inspectors, customers, and general contractors. Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout packages. Ensure projects are completed in accordance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, OSHA regulations, and company quality standards. Customer Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Provide proactive communication and project updates. Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly. Maintain strong client relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals. Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards. Ensure all installations comply with applicable codes, specifications, and contract requirements. Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and final project acceptance. Support a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Additional Responsibilities Support estimating, operational planning, and departmental initiatives as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler systems, fire protection, mechanical construction, or a related industry. Experience with estimating and managing commercial construction projects. Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, fire sprinkler systems, and construction practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings. Strong sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to customer job sites. Preferred Qualifications NICET Certification in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
