Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
  • Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
  • Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
  • Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
  • Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
  • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
  • Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
  • Basic welding skills (MIG and stick )
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $24.12 - $34.39.
