JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Purpose:

The Transportation Network Planner is responsible for executing, optimizing, and continuously improving transportation and supply chain processes to achieve business objectives while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role designs and manages transportation networks that ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while balancing service, cost, capacity, and risk. Partnering closely with Fleet, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams, the Transportation Network Planner develops and executes routing and delivery strategies that align operational capabilities with customer requirements. By leveraging supply chain expertise, data-driven decision-making, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies, the role proactively addresses disruptions, improves network performance and visibility, and supports sustainable business results through a resilient and customer-focused transportation network.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Optimize transportation plans, delivery schedules, and supply chain activities to meet customer demand while balancing service, cost, capacity, and inventory.
  • Analyze and cross functionally communicate network capacity, constraints, and risks to support informed decision-making and operational performance.
  • Develop and execute efficient routing and transportation plans that drive on-time delivery, maximize asset utilization, and improve overall network performance.
  • Monitor transportation network performance using data and analytics to identify disruptions, improve operational efficiency, and support business objectives through tools such as Power BI, TMS, BAAN, WMS, Business Objects, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using Lean and Supply Chain tools.
  • Collaborate with Fleet, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Warehousing, suppliers, carriers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative solutions to mitigate transportation risks and maintain service continuity.
  • Represent Supply Chain and Transportation in cross-functional projects, driving process improvements, operational efficiencies, and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives and operational requirements.

Minimum Qualification, Skill and/ or Competency Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Effectively collaborate and works well with others
  • Ability to understand customer needs, in detail, and consistently attend to meeting customer requirements
  • Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset by seeking feedback, insights, and best practices from colleagues and partners.

PAY RANGE:

$69,840.00 - $104,760.00
