Pigment Model Builder, Finance Transformation – San Francisco, CA or Denver, CO
A day in the life
We are seeking a Pigment Model Builder to play a key role in Prologis’ implementation and ongoing evolution of Pigment, the Finance organization’s enterprise planning and modeling platform. This position sits within the Finance Transformation team and partners closely with FP&A to design, build, improve, and maintain models that support forecasting, planning, scenario analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making across the Finance organization.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of finance, technology, data, and process improvement. The Pigment Model Builder will gather requirements from FP&A and cross-functional finance partners, translate those requirements into scalable Pigment designs, and build models, calculations, boards, workflows, reporting views, integrations, and controls that are intuitive, reliable, and aligned with platform best practices.
As Prologis continues to modernize its financial planning capabilities, this person will help establish the model architecture, governance, documentation, testing, and support processes that allow Pigment to scale across the organization. The role will partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Technology counterparts to align assumptions, data structures, and business logic across planning processes.
The ideal candidate combines deep Pigment or enterprise planning platform experience with strong finance acumen and a builder’s mindset. They should be comfortable moving between stakeholder conversations, solution design, model build, data validation, issue resolution, and user enablement. They should also be curious and practical in applying Pigment AI and other approved AI tools to accelerate model development, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement while maintaining appropriate review, control, and business ownership.
This role offers meaningful responsibility, significant cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to shape the future state of Prologis’ finance planning and modeling environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with FP&A and Finance Transformation leadership to understand business needs, gather requirements, define use cases, and translate requirements into scalable Pigment model designs.
- Build, enhance, and maintain Pigment applications, including dimensions, lists, metrics, formulas, data flows, boards, workflows, security, reporting views, and dashboards.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of corporate financial planning models, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capital allocation, development activity, debt, FX, ownership structures, consolidated financial statements, and management reporting.
- Design and maintain model architecture aligned with Pigment best practices, including modularity, transparency, performance optimization, auditability, and ease of maintenance.
- Partner with Technology, Data, and business system owners to design, validate, and troubleshoot inbound and outbound data integrations between Pigment and enterprise source systems or data platforms.
- Monitor model health and data quality; identify and resolve issues related to calculations, mappings, hierarchies, metadata, access, data loads, and reporting outputs.
- Establish and support governance processes for model changes, testing, user acceptance, release management, access management, documentation, and production support.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, including data flow diagrams, model architecture, calculation logic, process flows, change logs, support runbooks, and user training materials.
- Support FP&A and finance user adoption by providing training, answering questions, gathering feedback, and translating user needs into future enhancements.
- Use Pigment AI and other approved AI tools to accelerate model design, build, documentation, testing, and optimization, while ensuring outputs are reviewed, explainable, and aligned with Prologis’ governance standards.
- Stay current on Pigment product capabilities, AI features, model-building best practices, and enterprise planning trends; proactively recommend enhancements that improve quality, efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
- Partner across FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Real Estate, Strategic Capital, Energy Solutions, Operations, Data Center, Technology, and other teams to ensure planning models reflect accurate business logic, consistent assumptions, and aligned financial outputs.
