Job Summary: The Sr. Buyer is a senior-level position responsible for leading complex procurement projects and initiatives. This role involves conducting advanced sourcing and purchasing activities, performing in-depth cost analysis, and developing strategies to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness. The Sr. Buyer works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve procurement issues, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training junior buyers and providing technical expertise to support continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and source potential suppliers
- Review and analyze supplier proposals
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
- Maintain and update supplier database
Negotiate and Manage Contracts:
- Review and negotiate contracts for goods and services
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies and legal requirements
- Monitor contract performance and make necessary adjustments
- Evaluate and resolve contract disputes
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
- Analyze market trends and identify potential opportunities for cost savings
- Develop and implement procurement strategies
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Conduct market research and benchmarking
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance
- Resolve any issues or conflicts with suppliers
- Identify and develop new supplier partnerships
Cost Management:
- Monitor and control costs related to procurement

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with at least 4 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
