Full job description

Independently support sample management, compound inventory, aliquoting, quantitation, registration, and ordering activities in an R&D laboratory environment. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant handling of peptides, compounds, reagents, and lab supplies while contributing to general laboratory operations with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sample management and compound inventory activities, including receiving, tracking, organizing, reconciling, auditing, aliquoting, quantitation, registration, and accurate labeling of compounds and samples using compound management system workflows.
  • Manage laboratory chemical, reagent, and supply orders; monitor deliveries; verify receipt; replenish stock; and prepare standard solutions and reagents as needed to support ongoing research.
  • Coordinate sample movement within and between laboratory areas while maintaining chain-of-custody documentation. Perform routine laboratory cleaning, equipment upkeep, and general housekeeping to maintain a safe, organized R&D environment.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, work independently with minimal supervision, communicate status updates proactively, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Modify protocols as needed to support evolving project needs and learn and execute new experiments as required.
  • Support additional laboratory operations assigned by the supervisor or project team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience). Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience in sample management, compound inventory, compound handling, or related laboratory operations preferred.
  • Experience with an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) system preferred.
  • Familiarity with peptide synthesis or peptide handling is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic chemistry calculations, including dimensional analysis and molarity calculations, and to follow standard laboratory procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic R&D laboratory environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to document work clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining data integrity.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
