Full job description
As an Engineering Trades Manager, you will lead and oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring the resort's buildings, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position is responsible for supervising skilled trades team members, coordinating maintenance projects, supporting capital improvements, and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and guest satisfaction. What You'll Do as an Engineering Trades Manager:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise engineering trades team members to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Plan, assign, and coordinate daily maintenance operations, work orders, and staffing schedules.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ongoing resort improvement projects.
- Support capital projects by ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational improvements.
- Monitor departmental productivity, guest feedback, and work order completion.
- Manage tools, materials, inventory, vendors, and contractor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other resort departments to support guest satisfaction and operational needs.
- Provide hands-on assistance with maintenance operations when needed.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Resort Operations leadership.
What You Will Bring as an Engineering Trades Manager:
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a resort, hospitality, commercial, or maintenance environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education preferred.
- Trade certifications or licenses in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or related fields are preferred.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Ability to identify hazards, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations as needed.
- Required to pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
