The Vessel Utility Operator is responsible for final assembly and inspection of welded vessels. The Utility Operator is responsible for meeting or exceeding the required specifications and delivery requirements.
Utility Operators are responsible for post-weld treatment of pressure vessels, including sandblasting, hydroblasting, and painting/powder coating (as needed).
Compensation for this role is $20-24/hour. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Perform standard tasks to set up manufacturing equipment, perform final assembly tasks and inspections on welded vessels.
- Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment as designated.
- Maintain records on equipment operations.
- Communicates regularly with team members and management regarding concerns, discrepancies and continuous improvement efforts/ideas.
- Follows Graver work safety requirements and works safely in general all the time.
- Maintains clean and organized work area.

Position Qualifications:
In general the following are the basic requirements for this position in terms of skill level, education and experience.
Educational Requirements:
High school graduation or equivalent
Skill and Experience Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and interpret general documents such as work instructions, manuals and job packages.
- Ability to work with computers and computer controlled equipment
- Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on questions specific to processes and manufacturing status.
- Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and do basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and divide.
- Previous experience in manufacturing set-up preferred but not required.
- Self-motivated and maintains high level of attendance.
- Ability to lift on average 50lbs of weight and move about 20ft.
- Ability to regularly grasp, pull and push product using material handling equipment (pallet jack).
- Ability to stand the entire shift.
- Availability to work overtime as required (both during the week and on weekends).
Pay Range:
18.90 - 23.10
