Full job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role supports the production and manufacturing engineering team by fixing equipment issues. It also develops new ideas and solutions and drives safety improvements daily.
  • Assist with layout planning, installation, and testing of automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, high output environment on a variety of short-term projects.
  • Support and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment.
  • Document the processes used in building products.
  • Recommend product improvement and maintain standard drawings/specs.
  • Support new product launches and development (PDP Process).
  • Provide documentation for estimating the cost of materials and labor of manufactured product.
  • Support daily production through solving, testing, and validation of product.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to network across multiple functions.
  • Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
  • Ability to use computer programs including MS Office, MRP (JD Edwards preferred), SolidWorks, etc. – intermediate level.
  • Ability to process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as they relate to bills of material and product routings.
  • Ability to document processes in work instructions format.
  • Knowledge on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to provide input for new and existing products.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of product costing labor and material.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
  • 2-years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Pay Transparency

Compensation Range:

$20.40 - $37.80 Per Hour
