We are looking for people who share our mindset and core values — ownership in organizational success, a commitment to add value to our team, and the courage to reject mediocrity in pursuit of exceptional results.

We are seeking a Motorsports Aero Senior Software Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. In this role, you will help drive the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our internal Aero Platform as a full-stack engineer. You will build and enhance scalable software solutions across frontend, backend, data, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on modern application development using C# or a similar object-oriented language and cloud technologies such as Azure.

A key part of this position is transforming complex aerodynamic data into clear, accessible, user-friendly tools for engineers across multiple programs. You’ll collaborate with software engineers, aero engineers, IT, and other cross‐functional partners to ensure the platform is scalable, performant, and built on best‐practice engineering standards.

Joining GM Motorsports means working in a fast paced, competitive environment where your work deploys weekly and directly supports the on‐track performance of GM‐backed race teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software solutions for the Motorsports Aero platform
  • Help define the technical roadmap and align it with program and business goals
  • Build and support backend services, APIs, and integrations that power internal engineering applications
  • Develop responsive, reliable frontend applications and workflows for technical users
  • Architect and implement cloud-based solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate components, modules, and third‐party APIs
  • Work closely with GM IT and engineering groups to ensure scalability, reliability, and adherence to best practices
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain production systems in a fast-moving engineering environment

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study
  • 7–10 years of experience as a software engineer or similar role
  • Strong full-stack development experience across backend and frontend systems
  • Hands-on experience building backend services in C# / ASP.NET Core or similar modern framework
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Experience developing web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React, along with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of modern software architectures, methodologies, and design patterns
  • Experience with cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and monitoring tools
  • Proven ability to maintain and debug production software
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies (AKS, Azure SQL, etc.)
  • Advanced full stack experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Vite, React Query, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience building data-heavy platforms, engineering tools, or performance-sensitive applications
  • Motorsports or racing experience, or strong interest in high-performance engineering
