This role is based in our Portland, OR or New York, NY office.

Informa’s Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer with extensive experience and proficiency in React and Node.js.

Role Accountability and Duties:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks, specifically React and Node.js
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences
  • Implement and maintain API integrations with third-party services and internal systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the end users
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them into your work as appropriate.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
  • BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science or other technical, analysis, or mathematics subject area (will consider experience in lieu of a degree for highly qualified applicants) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on React and Node.js
  • Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating front-end interfaces with backend services
  • Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
  • Experience working in an Agile, fast-paced development environment
  • Experience identifying and understanding organizational and user requirements and specifications and translating those into quality code
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with other team members and customers (technical and non-technical)
  • Must be able to think creatively and analyze/solve difficult problems with logic and tenacity
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently on complex tasks with little direction, supervision, or management oversight
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, including MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Expertise in microservices architecture
  • Advanced skills in Python programming
  • Solid experience with PHP development

The salary range for this role is $120K- $140K/YR, based on experience.
