Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Hours: 3rd Shift-Tuesday-Friday 10pm-8am
Characteristics of the Class:
Direct and control the lay-up process at the assigned lay-up station. Perform other tasks as required.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with the Assembly Department Management to determine runs to be laid up.
- Evaluate the run press schedule for material and special lay-up needs.
- Obtain all needed lay-up material plus look-up and enter data into CRT.
- Determine the order in which assigned runs are to be laid up.
- Lay-up the material according to production schedule.
- Monitor the quality, length, and width of all material laid up.
- Inspect and verify count of completed run.
- Table leader – vacuum off completed run and board.
- Fill any material needs at the press.
- Train line-up people in reading the schedules, identifying patterns, identifying defective material, and satisfying the needs at the press.
- Ensure oncoming shift is set-up for start-up without delay.
- Regular Attendance Required.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of NEMA standards applicable to Assembly Department and other pertinent rules / regulations governing work standards.
- Knowledge of the material quality standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
EXPERIENCE
Three months of lay-up experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work – tasks involving pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials of 25-75 pounds plus walking and standing during a minimum of a 10-hour shift
ENVIRONMENT:
