IDEX Corporation is seeking a Director to identify and evaluate the enterprise's most attractive growth pathway across its portfolio of industrial platforms. This role supports the development of IDEX's acquisition pipeline and the analytical case for where and how the enterprise should expand, working in close partnership with corporate, segment and platform leadership. Theis individual will translate market structure, adjacency mapping, and portfolio economics into a prioritized set of actionable growth opportunities: sourcing and screening acquisition targets, building the rationale for entry into new spaces, and supporting the evaluation of live transactions. This is a high-visibility role that directly informs capital deployment decisions at the enterprise level.

Enterprise Growth Analysis

  • Map whitespace, adjacencies, and expansion opportunities across and beyond IDEX's current platforms
  • Frame build / buy / partner options for entering attractive spaces, quantifying the size of the prize and right-to-win
  • Assess market structure, growth rates, and competitive dynamics to distinguish durable opportunities

Acquisition Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain IDEX's enterprise-wide acquisition pipeline across near-, mid-, and long-term horizons
  • Source, screen, and prioritize targets against strategic fit, financial attractiveness, and platform adjacency
  • Develop investment theses and target profiles to support leadership decision-making on where to deploy capital

Transaction Support & Diligence

  • Contribute to valuation, financial modeling, and commercial diligence on active opportunities
  • Partner with peers and finance teams through evaluation, structuring, and approval of transaction
  • Synthesize diligence findings into clear, decision-ready materials for senior leadership and the board

Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as an analytical thought partner to leadership on growth and capital deployment
  • Coordinate across finance, commercial, and platform teams to pressure-test opportunities and align on priorities
  • Prepare and present findings to the executive leadership team and support board-level materials

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate development/M&A or corporate strategy within industrial, advanced-manufacturing, or diversified multi-platform businesses
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, screening, and evaluating acquisition targets, including financial modeling and valuation
  • Strong command of market sizing, adjacency analysis, and competitive landscape mapping
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous inputs into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior audiences
  • Experience partnering with executives, GMs, and cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred

Preferred Attributes:

  • Background in B2B industrial, advanced manufacturing, or dynamic technology markets
  • Familiarity with market intelligence platforms, competitive analysis frameworks. M&A transaction processes, and Voice of Customer (VoC) tools
  • Experience supporting strategic M&A or portfolio expansion initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, high-impact, and fast-paced environments.
