The Digital Innovation Division (DID) is accountable for generating and executing integrated strategies, providing governance, and managing internal investments that form the foundation of Aerospace’s digital transformation.

Th Digital Innovation Division is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to support Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Software Integration activities for Aerospace and its customers. This role will provide leadership and advice to a range of Aerospace and government customers seeking assistance with digital transformation integration efforts, especially technically demanding activities related to the development of common software components and their integration into M&S Software applications and AI across multiple classifications and platforms. You will lead efforts to define M&S interface standards, drive interoperability across platforms, and ensure data and software quality, security, compliance at scale, and enable agentic workflows. Inherent in this job will be opportunities to significantly influence the future of digital capabilities for both the government and the Aerospace Corporation.

This is a fulltime position that requires100% onsite work in Chantilly, VA; El Segundo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; or Huntsville, AL

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute digital integration strategy(-ies) in support of Aerospace and government customers. Develop and drive digital integration strategies in support of Aerospace and government, with a focus on modernizing enterprise modeling and simulation workflows.
  • Architect scalable M&S solutions. Design and implement software solutions – including common physics and engineering model components – built on enterprise Modeling and Simulation libraries and frameworks. Lead architecture decisions that account for diverse user requirements, use cases, and trade space constraints, ensuring solutions are optimized for deployment across cloud and high-performance computing environments
  • Liaison. Serve as a senior liaison, providing proactive coordination and consultation to Aerospace and customers; specifically, lead adoption with software development teams to establish and mature CI/CD pipelines for M&S workflows, enabling automated testing, integration, and deployment of common components. Champion software engineering best practices – version control, containerization, automated validation – to accelerate delivery and improve credibility across program
  • Drive organization-wide adoption. Develop and execute roadmaps and strategies to accelerate adoption of common M&S software components across multiple programs and teams. Build and encourage a community of practice, establish feedback loops with development teams, measure adoption, and performance metrics to demonstrate value and secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Provide integrated perspective. Provide expertise that incorporates the needs of Aerospace and the range of stakeholders to ensure that advice and solutions reflect consistent, balanced, and integrated strategies based on what is best for the entire space enterprise. aligning cross functional teams around goals and timelines.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other technical discipline
  • 10 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering roles, especially related to DE and M&S.
  • Hands-on software development experience in C++ and/or Python, particularly in the context of building, maintaining, or integrating enterprise-scale M&S libraries, physics, models, or simulation frameworks
  • Knowledge of and experience with DE and M&S ecosystems, cloud and HPC environments and services, data management, AI/ML technologies
  • Expertise with CI/CD tools and practices including platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions – with demonstrated experience designing or managing automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for simulation software
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to covey complex technical and mission focused concepts across a broad range of audiences and multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to Initiate acquisition of technical support from appropriate corporate resources
  • Track record in building technical proficiency through mentoring and talent development initiatives
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Experience in space domain modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale software development and integration projects
  • Direct experience with cloud, data, AI service providers and/or platforms
  • Direct experience with DoD, NNSA, or civil space missions and capabilities
  • Effective communication skills, to include the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to various types of stakeholders
  • Knowledge / experience with specific DOD, NNSA, or civil space digital environments
  • Experience developing or deploying agentic AI systems, including designing multi-agent workflows, autonomous reasoning frameworks applied to M&S orchestration, or decision support in complex technical environments
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and mission focused stakeholders across multiple constituencies.

  • Current DoD TS and SSBI/SCI Clearance
