What You'll Do

  • Provide underwriting guidance, counsel, and authorization to internal teams and customers for the issuance of commercial and residential title insurance commitments and policies.
  • Evaluate title risk and underwrite transactions within delegated authority, applying established underwriting standards and company guidelines.
  • Analyze and resolve complex title issues, providing practical underwriting solutions that support business objectives while managing risk.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to company personnel by providing guidance on title, escrow, and real estate settlement matters.
  • Interpret and communicate underwriting requirements, issue underwriting standards and guidelines, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Partner with operations, sales, legal, and agency personnel to support successful real estate transactions and deliver exceptional customer service.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of land title insurance underwriting experience, including significant experience underwriting Pennsylvania transactions.
  • Commercial underwriting experience, including complex commercial transactions, strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania real estate law, title insurance principles, title examination, settlement practices, and recording requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of PLTA/ALTA policies, endorsements, underwriting guidelines, and title insurance regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of title matters including lien priority, easements, probate, trusts, entity documentation, and other real property issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze risk, resolve complex title issues, and make sound underwriting decisions while providing practical business solutions.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across operations, sales, legal, and other business partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with title production systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Pay Range: $97,700.00 - $130,300.00 Annually
