We are seeking an experienced, approachable, and dependable Part-Time Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on HR support for our employees and leadership team. This position will independently manage day-to-day human resources responsibilities, including employee relations, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, HR systems, compliance, and employee support.
The ideal candidate will have strong generalist experience, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to address sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially.
Employment Type: Part-Time, Nonexempt Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week Anticipated Schedule: Monday and Wednesday—full days; Friday—half day Compensation: Approximately $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience Work Arrangement: On-site
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as an accessible HR resource for employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Provide guidance regarding employee relations concerns, company policies, attendance, performance, and workplace expectations.
- Conduct or assist with workplace investigations, coaching conversations, corrective actions, and documentation.
- Manage recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing applicants, coordinating interviews, preparing offers, and communicating with candidates.
- Coordinate hiring, preemployment requirements, new-hire paperwork, orientation, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee information and process HR-related changes within Workday and ADP.
- Support timekeeping, attendance, payroll, employee records, and HR reporting activities.
- Partner with staffing agencies and hiring managers regarding temporary and direct-hire staffing needs.
- Assist employees with questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, systems, and other employment-related matters.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, communication, training, and retention initiatives.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Maintain confidential employee and business information.
- Complete additional HR projects and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of progressive human resources generalist experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters independently.
- Experience managing recruiting, hiring, orientation, and onboarding processes.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience using Workday and ADP is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Human resources experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar professional certification.
- Experience working with staffing agencies and temporary workforces.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This position primarily performs office and administrative work but requires regular interaction with employees throughout the facility. The employee must be comfortable working in an operational or manufacturing environment and following all required safety policies and personal protective equipment requirements.
