AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager to be based in our Roanoke, VA office to work on Federal/Military facility projects.
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the following items, but not limited to:
- Responsible for the overall management administration of the project and assistance in establishing project-specific objectives and policies
- Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface
- Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors
- Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover, and contract closeout
- This position has profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project
- Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Due to the nature of this role, United States Citizenship is required for this position
- A valid US Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices and as a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2)+ years of applicable experience ideally on projects that are $200K to $100 Million +
- Due to the nature of this role, ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines, clients and contractors
- Strong technical skills
- Experienced using Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Experienced using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
- Experienced using Contract Manager or similar construction management software
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Exceptional knowledge of construction ways, means, methods, and sequences
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Responsive to changing demands
- Strong leadership skills
- Good team-building skills
- Employs flexibility of methods
- This position does not offer relocation assistance.
