Full job description
Develops, prepares, and analyzes financial and operating data while performing a variety of complex accounting duties. Supports Workday Adaptive Planning through integration trouble shooting, data loads, and modeling.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices, maintaining current customer demographics.
- Research and respond to inquiries from customers and suppliers.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing, revenue, or account balances.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting packages for business leadership.
- Build and maintain forward-looking revenue models to support business planning and financial decision making.
- Perform calculations, posting of journal entries, analysis, and reporting related to accounting transactions.
- Reconcile complex accounts, extensive research using advanced problem solving, and resolution within corporate standards.
- Manage expectations through consistent timely updates.
- Develop and communicate solutions for continuous process improvement within the job function.
- Assist in identifying and resolving integration errors between Workday and Adaptive Planning in partnership with the model owner and IT
- Support routine data loads, report generation, and minor model maintenance in Adaptive Planning.
- Document, report and follow through on recommendations from projects.
- Work with external organizations and internal departments on project initiatives and various accounting issues.
- Research and respond to inquiries from other Nelnet departments.
Annual compensation range for this role is $50,000-$70,000 depending on experience.
Candidate location preference is Lincoln, NE
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance
EXPERIENCE
3+ years accounting experience
Exposure to Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive Planning or similar platforms preferred, but not required.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to create Excel documents using a variety of formulas and Excel tools.
- Strong accountability for work: timely completion of tasks, working with manager to develop and achieve position goals, communication of task/project delays.
- Able to prioritize and deliver under deadline constraints and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Able to take large amounts of data, organize effectively, and present in a meaningful and concise manner.
- Ability to work with a team or independently with initiative and appropriate supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization from peers to executive management both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of complex accounting concepts and strong knowledge of GAAP, including consolidation accounting.
