THE JOB
Lakewood Amphitheatre is seeking is seeking a Supervisor – Event Cleaning/Janitorial Services. The Event Cleaning/Janitorial Services Supervisor is a working supervisor who is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of the cleaning staff within the venue on the day(s) before, of, and after each show. Duties may also include management functions.
Important Note: This position is part-time/seasonal with hours beginning in April and working through October.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Direct and supervise cleaning staff and other employees performing similar services as directed. Provide customer services by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints
- On an ongoing basis leads and train staff to include assisting in staffing positions to ensure that all staff members are well-informed on event specific details. Assist with managing breaks
- Assist management to ensure compliance with all venue policies and procedures to include all safety regulations
- Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste such as sorting waste and collecting recycling and educating our fans about our efforts.
- Partner with fellow crew members at the end of show to close the venue- this may include collecting recyclables from the lawn and/or reserved section, picking up and properly storing event equipment such as lawn chairs, barricade, Etc.
- Translate instructions and important information to Spanish-speaking crew members.
- Keep the venue safe and clean at all times, including but not limited to restocking restroom paper, materials and hygiene products as needed; cleaning bathroom facilities such as toilets, sinks, and floors; cleaning spills and other messes on an as-needed basis throughout concerts and events; and picking up and sorting trash as part of our sustainability initiative
- Thoroughly clean all areas of front of house, including but not limited to bathrooms, employee break spaces, outdoor lounge areas, and VIP areas, as well as dressing rooms and office spaces backstage
- Complete a cleaning checklist of all assigned areas
- Ensure all areas are ready to welcome guests
- Oversee productivity and work assignments of the cleaning staff and communicate with management (or designated Manager) any challenges and status of all assignments prior to the conclusion of the shift
- Assign and schedule team members to specific duties
- Enforce safety, health, and security duties.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- Position requires constant walking, standing and occasional sitting in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions; lifting/carrying 25+ pounds
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to handle long show days – up to 15 hours
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, including late evenings
- Attention to detail, quality and accuracy
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting
