Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day administration of volunteer activities and assignments and monitors compliance with established policies and procedures within the community and the volunteer organization. Supports and assists with fund raising events planned by the Volunteer Advisory Committee. Maintains all volunteer related records. Serves as a member of the Volunteer Council and the Volunteer Advisory Committee.
Essential Duties
- Responsible for recruitment, screening, orientation, training, placement, and subsequent scheduling and supervision of volunteers for a variety of assignments. Working in conjunction with various community staff members, matches volunteer interests, abilities and availability to the needs of the residents and staff.
- Develops and maintains relationships with volunteers and volunteer groups
•. Serves as a liaison between staff and volunteers; takes appropriate steps to resolve issues and concerns as needed.
- Creates and maintains up-to-date Volunteer records (activities, assignments, and hours worked).
- Keeps current information in accordance with established procedures, Health Department regulations and HIPAA confidentially records.
- Works under the guidance of corporate to develop and implement public relation and marketing efforts for the volunteer program.
- Serves on the Volunteer Council to plan and develop corporate volunteer efforts and coordinate community specific programs. Performs tasks related to corporate initiatives.
- Plans and implements special recognition and education programs and events, utilizing appropriate resources.
- Monitors income and expenses throughout the year to remain within the established budgetary guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years experience in a public relations position, preferred.
- Minimum of a 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Minimum of a 1 year experience in a voluntary position.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Position requires moderate physical work. Moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens, body excretions and communicable diseases possible.
- Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
