Key Responsibilities
● Regular and consistent attendance as scheduled
● Train and mentor team members as appropriate
● Responsible for department onboarding, retention, training and re-training
● Apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
● Collect/analyze data to ensure team members are progressing at a satisfactory rate
● Asses/identify areas of opportunity with training then develop and implement a continuous improvement plan
● Conduct warehouse inspections for safety/sanitation compliance to all regulatory guidelines
● Certify team members in appropriate MHE required by position
● Understand the Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update reviews.
● Check computerized time/attendance on a daily basis to verify team members have the proper time clock punches in the system
● Ensure all team member forms for Time Adjustment, PTO requests, etc. are coordinated for staffing purposes and turned into HR timely for processing in the correct pay period.
● Partner with other supervisors to ensure comprehensive training and support of new hires, as well as transition when reporting relationship changes
● Evaluate and report on team member progress, providing guidance to other supervisors on additional training required or limits on ability to progress
● When not actively training warehouse team members, perform Warehouse Supervisor duties. This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of responsibilities, duties or activities. Education/Experience
● High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
● Warehouse experience preferred
● Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills &
Qualifications
● Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
● Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling
● Accuracy and attention to detail
● Able to read, write, speak and understand English
● Ability to read and understand label data
● Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
● Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
● Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays
● Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
Physical Demands
● Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
● Able to sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
● Able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
● Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
● Ability to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately
● Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently
● Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses)
● Ability to build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds
● Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
● Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
● Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
● Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods of time as required by location
● Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
● Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $58,000.00 - $74,000.00
