Position Summary

The Transportation & Delivery Driver is responsible for safely transporting cakes, bakery supplies, packaging, and other operational materials between bakery locations, vendors, and designated delivery sites. This role plays a critical part in supporting bakery operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport cakes, bakery products, supplies, and equipment between bakery locations.
  • Pick up products and supplies from vendors as scheduled.
  • Deliver specialty cake orders and catering orders when needed.
  • Load and unload deliveries carefully to protect product quality.
  • Verify delivery accuracy and maintain delivery logs.
  • Communicate with bakery managers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns immediately.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and transportation guidelines.
  • Assist with stocking and organizing products upon delivery.
  • Support bakery operations with additional tasks as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (preferred based on insurance requirements).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable driving throughout the assigned market.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
  • Previous delivery, transportation, warehouse, or logistics experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of vehicles throughout the day.
  • Ability to safely operate a cargo van or company vehicle.
  • Work in varying weather conditions while loading and unloading deliveries.
