The Product Purchase Price Management Prime, a key member of the Procurement Organization, is responsible for maintaining accurate product purchase pricing throughout the supply chain. This includes raw material pricing at the component level, as well as finished-goods product level pricing (Material + Transformation costs). Component pricing and product design change details flow monthly between Ciena and our various CM and distribution partners around the globe. Accurate and timely management of this data helps Ciena maintain a competitive advantage and continue to win market share.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive the Product Purchase Price update process including inventory revaluation claims
  • Ensure NPI products are reflected in price files in a timely manner and align to agreed-to production costing.
  • Compute and settle inventory revaluation amounts owed for all price changes.
  • Drive the monthly Component Price Change processes and resulting PPV claims.
  • Generate monthly component pricing submissions and transmit to the CM in a timely manner.
  • Solicit monthly CM receipt submissions into PCDM, review promptly, and log & address any discrepancies.
  • Compute and settle any purchase price variance (PPV) amounts
  • Drive the claims processing cycle.
  • Review monthly shipments to analyze any product purchase price discrepancies with agreed monthly pricing to determine true-up claims with CM resulting from price discrepancies
  • Communicate with CM the PPV, Reval and True-up claims, and obtain agreements on amounts owed
  • Review claims with management to ensure alignment with budgets

Candidate Profile:

  • Relationship builder at all levels of the organization, including external teams/supplier
  • Strong cross functional co-ordination skills with the drive to find resolutions quickly
  • Exceptional data analysis abilities, and experience with database tools and SQ is a plus
  • Ability to quickly grasp the structure of a Ciena product and relate it to relevant supply chain elements
  • communication skills, able to formulate clear, concise, and relevant fact-based messages
  • to deal with ambiguity and fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to handle extremely confidential information with complete discretion.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, business, finance, accounting or similar
  • Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • MS Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Familiarity of Power BI is a plus
