Overview
The Medical Science Liaison II (MSL II) serves as a scientific expert supporting academic and community physicians, KOLs, and select health system stakeholders. This role is responsible for building strong KOL relationships, delivering high-quality scientific exchange, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives with increasing autonomy and strategic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with KOLs across academic and community settings.
- Engage KOLs in scientific dialogue to deepen understanding of the company’s technologies and products.
- Begin engaging select health system stakeholders (e.g., clinical leaders) to support broader adoption.
- Develop, refine, and present scientific content (slides, abstracts, and data summaries) to external audiences.
- Lead presentations at regional meetings, CME events, and scientific forums.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment of all scientific communications with company strategy.
- Act as a trusted scientific resource for Sales, Marketing, and Market Access teams.
- Provide regular field insights to inform strategy, including customer needs, treatment trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Support planning and execution of advisory boards and scientific forums.
- Identify potential research collaborations with KOLs
- Contribute to publication planning and support data dissemination efforts.
- Actively participate in broader Medical Affairs initiatives and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Mentor MSL I peers informally and support onboarding and best practice sharing.
Qualifications
- Typically bachelor’s with ~8–12 years (or 6–8 with master’s / 3–5 with PhD/PharmD/MD) diagnostic or pharma experience required.
- Typically 2–5+ years of experience in MSL or related medical affairs role.
- Demonstrated experience in KOL engagement and scientific presentation delivery.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to operate independently and manage territory priorities effectively.
Willingness to travel up to ~60%

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.

Primary Location Base Pay Range: $164,900 - $226,750
Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $164,900 - $226,750
If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $164,900 - $226,750 Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
