Account Specialist – Aftermarket

As an Account Specialist – Aftermarket, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base, strengthening existing relationships, and driving aftermarket revenue growth. This is more than a sales position—it's an opportunity to become a trusted advisor, helping customers optimize operations through high-value service, support, and water treatment solutions.

You'll have the autonomy to manage your territory, build strategic partnerships, and directly influence business growth while collaborating with a highly experienced Light Industry Sales Team.

What You'll Do

Drive New Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and engage new customers through market research, networking, referrals, and outbound outreach.
  • Generate and qualify leads via phone, email, and digital engagement strategies.
  • Schedule and conduct discovery meetings to uncover customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Develop targeted plans to expand aftermarket sales within assigned accounts and territories.

Build and Maintain Customer Relationships

  • Establish trusted partnerships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, product recommendations, and support needs.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities and strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Maintain ongoing communication to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.

Deliver Consultative Sales Solutions

  • Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based sales discussions.
  • Customize proposals and recommendations to address customer objectives and operational challenges.
  • Clearly communicate product value, pricing, and ROI.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Manage and Grow Customer Accounts

  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products, services, and aftermarket solutions.
  • Monitor customer utilization, satisfaction, and evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Support customer success initiatives that drive long-term account growth.

Oversee Order and Sales Support Activities

  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, and service teams to ensure timely delivery and execution.
  • Communicate order status updates and proactively manage customer expectations.
  • Resolve order issues, returns, and service concerns professionally and promptly.

Leverage Data to Drive Results

  • Track sales activity, pipeline performance, and revenue trends.
  • Analyze market opportunities and competitive activity.
  • Prepare reports and forecasts to support business planning and territory management.
  • Recommend strategies to improve market penetration and revenue growth.

Become a Product and Industry Expert

  • Develop deep knowledge of water treatment solutions, aftermarket services, and industry applications.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and competitor offerings.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously expand technical and commercial expertise.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of sales, account management, or business development experience
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across functional teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM and business systems such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 10%.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience selling industrial, manufacturing, aftermarket, service, or technical products.
  • Knowledge of water treatment, water chemistry, filtration, purification, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with market analysis, territory planning, and strategic account development.
  • Proven success negotiating and closing business opportunities.
