AECOM is seeking an Senior Architect for our growing Roanoke Building + Places team to work on interesting and challenging projects for a variety of clients. This position is hybrid.
- Spearhead the technical and design process for projects across Federal, Health and Science, and Higher Education markets, ensuring innovative and client-focused solutions.
- Oversee all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders, to integrate architectural and technical solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design and technical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, and sustainability standards, while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy in project documentation.

- Proficiency in design and graphic software such as Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud as well as visualization tools like Enscape or Lumion.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field + 8 years of relevant experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Licensed Registered Architect in the state of Virginia or other states.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- 10+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Strong design and technical experience showcasing innovative and impactful architectural designs and technical solutions for projects.
- Experience in Federal and Health and Science projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality technical and design documents.
- Experience in leading client facing presentations.
- LEED Accreditation or equivalent sustainability certification is a plus.
- This position does not support relocation assistance.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Willingness to travel nationally as well as internationally.
