The Opportunity:
The Engineering Excellence Intern will work closely with cross-functional team members such as engineering managers, engineering analysts and data engineers to support the Engineering Excellence team. The focus will be on software engineering best practices, training, goals and metrics. This role is designed for students or recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in a software engineering environment, specifically how the engineering teams operate. The intern will contribute to real projects, learn industry best practices, and develop skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and communication within a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Essential Responsibilities
- Analyze and document processes, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement or automation.
- Assist in gathering and documenting requirements for new or revised metrics.
- Contribute to the development and testing of new or revised metrics.
- Prepare and present training materials for new or revised metrics.
- Validate existing metrics each week to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze data sets to identify trends, anomalies and issues, and recommend solutions.
- Participate in meetings with engineering leaders regarding reports and metric values.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and networking events as part of the internship program.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s program (preferred fields: Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related). Overall GPA of 3.5 with GPA of 3.7 preferred in major.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, or R) is a plus.
- Interested in healthcare technology and process improvement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eastern or central time zone preference to align with availability of the team
- No prior experience required; curiosity and willingness to learn are essential
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
- This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
