Director, Card Risk Strategic Projects
As a Risk Management Director on the Chief of Staff Strategic Projects team, you will serve as a force multiplier for our executive leadership team. You will drive high-priority strategic projects, shape the workforce strategy, and develop executive-ready communications and presentations. You will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You’ll have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to business challenges.
Capital One’s Card Risk organization serves a critical role in helping the organization to identify, mitigate, and manage risks. The members of the Card Risk organization serve as strategic advisors to the lines of business - helping them to remain well-managed and supporting their continued growth, innovation, and success.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Serve as a primary thought partner to Card Risk leadership, aligning agendas on high-impact goals, labor strategy, and budget.
- Operational Excellence: Lead horizontal initiatives that uncover efficiencies, prevent duplication, and sharpen our focus on key priorities.
- Complex Problem Solving: Tackle intricate business challenges, turning shifting regulatory and consumer demands into strategic advantages.
- Influence & Vision: Bridge the gap between strategy and execution, providing clarity and direction to stakeholders across the organization.
- Executive Communications: Develop high-stakes presentations and communications that drive decision-making at the executive level.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 7 years of experience in project, process, program, or risk management
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
- At least 2 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- 5+ years of Financial Services risk management experience
- 5+ years of internal strategy or management consulting experience leading cross functional financial services projects and programs
- 5+ years of people management experience
