About This Role

The Manager, US Forecasting will be a key member of the Decision Sciences – Forecasting Center of Excellence team, supporting the development, execution, and ongoing refinement of forecast models for Biogen’s US business across key franchises.

This role focuses on building robust, data-driven forecasting models by leveraging primary and secondary data sources, generating actionable insights, and supporting strategic planning and resource allocation. The individual will work cross-functionally to gather inputs, align on assumptions, and deliver forecasts that enable data-driven decision-making.

This position offers a strong mix of analytical execution, cross-functional collaboration, and growing strategic exposure. The role reports to the Senior Director, Forecasting COE.

What You’ll Do

Forecasting & Business Partnership

  • Support short- and long-term brand and market revenue forecasting, including developing assumptions, updating models, and assisting in communicating outputs to stakeholders (Marketing, I&A, Finance).
  • Build and maintain forecast models using:
  • Epidemiology-based patient flows
  • Sales and demand trends (weekly/monthly)
  • Inventory dynamics and revenue deductions
  • Conduct scenario analyses (e.g., sensitivity testing, basic Monte Carlo simulations) to evaluate risks and opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally to incorporate key inputs:
  • Market Research (demand studies, conjoint outputs)
  • Analytics (claims-based KPIs, patient flows)
  • Market Access (pricing, access, and gross-to-net dynamics)
  • Finance (revenue planning and targets)
  • Support long-range planning exercises in collaboration with US and Global teams.
  • Assist in reconciling internal forecasts with external expectations (e.g., investor or analyst views).

Forecast Model Execution & Continuous Improvement

  • Own components of forecast model development, maintenance, and updates.
  • Ensure models are accurate, transparent, and incorporate latest insights and data sources.
  • Help identify and implement enhancements to forecasting tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for models, assumptions, and processes.
  • Support tracking forecast performance vs. actuals and identify drivers of variance.
  • Contribute to building best practices and knowledge-sharing within the Forecasting COE.

Project Support & Operational Excellence

  • Support forecasting workstreams in key brand or franchise projects.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for assigned forecasting analyses.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and business case development as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to gather inputs and ensure alignment.

You are analytically strong and detail-oriented, with a passion for forecasting and using data to inform business decisions. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and are eager to deepen your expertise across therapeutic areas and commercial dynamics.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferred: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, HEOR, or similar)
  • 3–5 years of experience in pharma/biotech, consulting, or analytics-focused roles
  • 1+ years of experience in forecasting, commercial analytics, or related area preferred
  • Foundational understanding of:
  • Forecasting methodologies (epi-based, demand-based models)
  • Pharma data sources (sales, claims, specialty pharmacy, demand studies)
  • Revenue dynamics (gross-to-net, access considerations)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills:
  • Advanced Excel modeling required
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and scenario modeling (e.g., @Risk, Crystal Ball) preferred
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work with moderate guidance

The base compensation range for this role is: $122,000.00-$163,000.00 Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
