Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an IT Application Developer II at our Lynnwood, WA location.

About Crane:

Job Summary:

The Application Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative technology solutions to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and drive revenue growth. The individual in this role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that meet our business users' needs. This position requires a strong foundation in software development, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Power Automate, Power App and RPA tools and Databases (SQL, Oracle) including management, security, and deployment of code versions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate technical needs, and propose effective solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Provide production support for the developed Applications, Azure services, RPA tools, and related systems, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Provide administrative support for reporting tools such as Power BI, QLIK.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our applications remain current and competitive.
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of applications in production environments.
  • Ensure compliance with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and security.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers as needed.
  • Create and maintain necessary technical documentation and flowcharts such as data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, release notes, etc.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on application development using Power Automate, Power App and SharePoint/TEAMs.
  • Proficiency in programming languages/technologies e.g. Java, Python, JavaScript, etc. and Database development.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with front-end and/or back-end frameworks.
  • Experience with Power BI, QLIK or equivalent tool.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment
  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Requires up to 30% travel to support customers

Salary range: $120,544.60 - $155,377.70. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs
