Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance independently.
- Conduct thorough inspections and document findings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with senior mechanics on complex repairs.
- Ensure all work adheres to FAA and company standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
- Promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Currently serving as ACTIVE duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
- Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
Qualification We Prefer:
- Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
- Specific experience with certain aircraft models.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
- Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.
- Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas.
- Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.
- Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.
- Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
