Xylem is seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Sanford, FL service center. In this role, you’ll help support the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of Godwin diesel pump systems while working alongside a skilled service team.
What Your Day Will Look Like as a Senior Diesel Mechanic
As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you’ll play an important role in supporting our Sanford Service Center, where pumps are returned for evaluation, maintenance, repair, and rebuild work. This position is primarily shop-based and focuses on troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines used in our pump systems.
While equipment-specific training will be provided, candidates with strong diesel engine experience — particularly with Caterpillar and John Deere engines — will transition especially well into the role.
This position typically follows a Monday–Friday day shift schedule, with occasional weekend support based on business needs.
Senior Diesel Mechanics are expected to provide their own specialty tools.

What We’re Looking For in a Senior Diesel Mechanic
- Strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance
- Eight (8) or more years of diesel engine experience preferred
- Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere diesel engines preferred
- Familiarity with Godwin diesel pump engines (such as 6068, 6090, and 4045 series) is a plus
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, diesel, and electrical issues
- Working knowledge of tools, materials, and repair techniques used on diesel-powered equipment
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to complete a background check, drug screening, MVR review, and DOT physical
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Position Schedule
- Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 AM–4:00/5:00 PM
- Occasional weekend work as needed
