Full job description
The Neuroscience Institute (NI) within the Mellon College of Science is an interdisciplinary research and education center dedicated to advancing the understanding of the brain through neuroscience, artificial intelligence, psychology, engineering, and computational science. The institute brings together researchers, faculty, and students to study cognition, behavior, brain health, and neural technology while translating discoveries into real-world applications and treatments
NI is seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant to join the team!
Core Responsibilities
- Working neurobiology experiments examining the effect of visual stimulation on cortical and subcortical areas of the brain in rodents
- Learning how to set up visual stimulation hardware
- Organizing and managing research documentation
- Assisting with Neural Spike Sorting analysis
- Collaborating with researchers from many different backgrounds and skill sets to design and refine novel paradigms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous research experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, data analysis, reasoning, and communication skills.
- A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
