MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR - CARROLLTON, TX
OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain product quality and safety standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment inspections, to minimize production interruptions and downtime.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance tasks and ensure minimal impact on production schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify issues, defects, or potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or coordinate repairs with external vendors to restore functionality in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
- Monitor and control maintenance expenses within budgetary constraints by optimizing resources and minimizing waste.
- Provide regular reports to the Maintenance Manager on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and adherence to maintenance schedules and KPIs.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Proven experience in maintenance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular business hours.
WHAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred.
- Certification in maintenance management or related field (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) is a plus.
